Getting Started

The Apostle John, one of Jesus’ closest and dearest friends during His pre-resurrected life, recalled an occasion in which Jesus was talking to another close friend, a woman by the name of Martha.  Martha’s brother had just died, and in her grief she questioned why Jesus had not come to heal her brother when they had sent for Him.  One of Jesus’ replies to her was this:

I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.  Do you believe this? (The Gospel according to John, 11:25 NIV)

We are of those who believe that the claims Jesus made about Himself during His pre-resurrected life were confirmed and validated in the early hours of a Sunday morning (most likely April 5, 33 A.D.) when Jesus’ tomb was found to be empty and He Himself appeared alive and in the flesh to Mary Magdalene, then later that day to 11 of His closest followers, and then over the course of the next 38 days to over 500 eye witnesses.  All Christian congregations, including we who gather at New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene, gather together around this conviction and in worship of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Who delivered the people of ancient Israel from slavery in Egypt, and Who became flesh in the Person of Jesus.

We are so thrilled that you are considering gathering with us!

Where do I start?

Join us 10:30-11:45am on a Sunday morning for worship!  (Summer Hours)

Worshipping together is the heart of who we are as a community of followers of Jesus.

  • We celebrate our life together
  • We pray for and with each other as we offer up words of thanksgiving, as well as requests to God
  • We sing songs of praise and worship to the God of all creation, who became flesh in the Person of Jesus, and who works in our midst through His Holy Spirit
  • We offer portions of the blessings God has bestowed on us to be used for the continuance of God’s mission in the world
  • We offer our minds and our hearts as we receive words of education, encouragement, and challenge from the Christian Scriptures
  • We receive a blessing for the moments and days ahead.

What then? Following Jesus is a whole person commitment:  mind, body, and spirit.

Where do you want to begin?

Mind

  • Discipleship Hour for all ages at 11:00am on Sunday mornings  (September – June)

If you’re looking for a combination of Christian fellowship and an introduction to Christian belief and teaching, then our Discipleship Hour might be a perfect place to start.  We have a number of adult groups: men’s and women’s, three co-ed groups for adults, and, of course, age appropriate classes for children and teens.

Body

Rise Again Outreach was born in the hearts of several members of New Beginnings Nazarene, and it has grown into an interdenominational ministry in the Capital Area of New Hampshire.  It’s mission is to share God’s love with people who are in crisis or poverty by helping with their temporal and spiritual needs.  Follow the link to discover the many ways you can support this valuable ministry to the hurting and disenfranchised in our communities.

Spirit

  • Breaking Bread Together

Bond Hall/Fellowship Hall (in the south building):

On the first Sunday of the month (on a quarterly schedule), immediately following our discipleship hour, we gather together for a potluck dinner in our fellowship hall.  These gatherings provide meaningful opportunities to get to know one another, to begin and extend friendships, and to support and encourage one another.

  • Praying Together

Before every Discipleship class or gathering we pray for our hearts and minds to be open to God. We also pray at any time someone requests prayer, whether it is one-to-one, in a small group setting, at the altar or through our e-mail prayer chain group.  Our Heavenly Father is always ready to hear from His children.
